As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, youll dive deep into ground-breaking technologieslike machine learning and AIto craft novel software solutions that solve our customers high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You''ll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. - ## Educational Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, Electronics Communication, or a related field.
- Master''s degree in Computer Science, AI, Deep Learning, or NLP is highly preferred.
- Domain Knowledge: Semiconductor / Manufacturing
- 8+ years of IT experience, with 6+ years in data science and 2+ Years in Agentic AI. Deployed multiple solution in Production using unstructured data.
- Proven experience designing, pretraining, and fine-tuning large-scale LLMs for tasks such as text generation, summarization, and question answering.
- Research orientated, quick prototyping, and build AI / GenAI solution at enterprise scale.
- Strong Python programming skills; hands-on with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Solid understanding of transformer architectures (BERT, GPT, LLaMA) and fine-tuning techniques (SFT, LoRA, adapters, prompt engineering).
- Deep expertise in build model with large unstructured data, Solutioning, Deep learning framework and Re-enforcement learning.
- Familiarity with Databricks, MLflow, and Delta Lake; experience with MLOps best practices including CI/CD and model versioning.
- Proficiency in data preprocessing and handling large-scale text, image, or multimodal datasets.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, with a preference for candidates familiar with the Azure ecosystem.
- Comfortable working in UNIX/Linux environments with command-line scripting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written, verbal, and visual).
- Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and mentor junior members.
- Drive multiple initiatives and present solution at large forums.
